Medical Director
The Liberty Township EMS medical director is responsible for all medical aspects of pre-hospital patient care. He has the authority to approve the level of pre-hospital care which may be rendered by each of the department members, establish and monitor compliance with field performance guidelines and establish and monitor training standards. He also guides the development and revision of protocols, medical standing orders, continuing education program, and address equipment and legislative issues.
Warren Yamarick, MD has been the Liberty Township Medical director since 1987. The leadership that he gives allows the paramedics of the Liberty Township Fire Department to provide the best pre-hospital care that they can. Dr. Yamarick stays involved in EMS activities by updating new pre-hospital care protocols, QA/QI procedures, EMS training, and most importantly, making himmself available when the fire department requires his assistance. Dr. Yamarick works at one of the best hospitals in Central Ohio. Riverside Methodist Hospital is a large facility that handles over 80,000 patients a year. He works in the Emergency Department that contains over 90 beds and is state of the art when it comes to Emergency Medicine. Dr. Yamarick's accomplishments include: Medical Director for Riverside for over 5 years, Board certified in Emergency Medicine, state certified as a State EMS instructor, and assisted in the design of the new state of the art Emergency Department at Riverside Hospital. Dr. Yamarick was born and raised in Circleville, Ohio. He completed his undergraduate studies at Denison University and then went onto The Ohio State University for medical school. He had his residency at Riverside and Ohio State University Hospital in Emergency Medicine. He and his 5 beautiful daughters ranging from 6 to 16 years of age reside in Powell, Ohio. He enjoys golf, fishing, and spending time with his family.
